Certificate of Recognition

What is a Certificate of Recognition?

  • A Certificate of Recognition (COR) is awarded to employers who develop health and safety programs that meet established standards.
  • Certificates are issued by Alberta Employment and Immigration and are co-signed by Certifying Partners.
  • Achieving and maintaining a valid COR is required for earning a financial incentive through the WCB Partnerships in Injury Reduction program. Also, it is not unusual for Alberta corporations to expect contractors bidding on projects to hold a valid COR.
How does a COR benefit YOU?
  • Decrease of workplace injuries
  • Financial incentive through the WCB Partnerships in Injury Reduction (PIR) program. (WCB rebate cheques).
  • Opportunity to bid on projects which require Sub Contractors to have COR
  • Public image enhanced
  • Due Diligence defence against OH&S
What ASCL will do for YOU:
  • Determine which Certifying Partner is best for the organization
  • Provide guidance for COR Requirements
  • Develop and Implement a Health and Safety Program*
